- I am somewhat familiar with the Micronik 1200 tower kit, but to the
- best of my knowledge, it does not do Zorro III, only II. And it does
- not have video slots, at least in the version available now. At Cologne,
- Micronik showed me a new board with video slot capability, but said it
- would be awhile before it was available.
-
- The Micronik tower expansion board will not work properly with GVP,
- Microbotic, MTEC, DKB or CSA accelerator cards. It is reported by one tester
- to work with the Blizzard 1230-IV; I am waiting for one now to try. I do not
- own a 1200 tower, but a dealer friend 20 miles away has several. He is unhappy
- with them so far; he was told that they would work with the most recent
- versions of the DKB Cobra and Mongoose accelerators, but we could not make
- them work. He wants to return the Microniks, but I asked him to hold off
- until my Blizzard comes in and we can try it.
-
- Eagle Computers told me about two weeks ago that in March, they will have a
- 1200 Tower kit that does ZII/III and has video slots. And is completely
- compatible, because it apparently uses the Super Buster chip found in the
- 4000 (if I understood them correctly).
